Welcome home to the Dobner family home page, that is. Come on in, stay awhile, and meet the folks.

First lets talk about John

    John works for the Village of Tinley Park, Illinois as the Code Enforcement Commissioner. His new interest is computers, and he has created a few web pages for some Emergency Services groups. With all the work and interests he needs a hot tub to relax. Good thing he was able to finish his hot tub room.  

Next is Nancy

    Nancy is a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), and works for a number of companies, (at least when she isn't looking for dead people). Her interests, besides John, are looking up dead people. She is a genealogist and spends a lot of her free time at the National Archives in Chicago. She is also a volunteer at the National Archives. Nancy is researching the family names of Baily, Bradley, Kennedy, Graff, Ray, Severs, and Dobner. Last year Nancy located 7 of John's German cousins. A trip was planned in July of 2000 with the (Buidigian) Sister Cities Commission which Nancy is a member. Nancy made all the arrangements with the relatives to meet in Buidigian for a luncheon. Everyone meet for the first time, and spent the day talking as best we could and exchanging photos. The whole day was spent together, learning about each others lives. Another trip was planned in 2004 in which both Valerie, Eddi and the kids went with us. 

Now a little about John David

    John is our youngest child, who lives in Rockford, Illinois at Shiloh Home. This is a special individualized living facility (CILA). John is doing very well in his home. John David was happy to see all of us for each time we visit. We all enjoyed being with him at his house.

Now Valerie Faith Thelen

  Valerie is our oldest. She is married to Eddi and has two sons named Tyler Douglas and Austin Ray and a daughter named Ana Lee. She is a working mother who now works from home. Insurance is the name of her game. She has been keeping herself and Eddi busy with the house. This house is in Tinley Park just a mile from our house. She now goes running with Eddi and Tyler.  

Edward Thelen aka Eddi

    Eddi is married to Valerie as stated above. The Thelens have purchased their second house in Tinley Park and moved into the home in June of 2003. Now that Eddi has a new home, he is very busy making improvements to the house. He is learning that everything doesn't come easy. But the house is looking much better. Eddi has been training for the Chicago Marathon in October of 2008. Seems like the family that runs together stays together and is tired together.

Tyler Douglas Thelen

    Tyler is our first grandson and is in 9th grade. He seems to enjoy school especially in Tinley Park, which is just a couple blocks away from the house. He will start High School this fall 2008. Tyler is into sports, like basketball, baseball, football and floor hockey and Cross Country Running. He excels in running and has won many 1st and 2nd awards. He is looking forward to next spring to start sports all over again. Since becoming a pre-teen, Tyler is looking at everything in a different light. 

Austin Ray Thelen

    As indicated earlier Austin is our second grandson and a handful. Handsome little devil. Kind of takes after his Papa.!!!!!!???? He is forming his own personality. Austin also likes his new house and neighborhood in Tinley Park. Austin is in starting 5th grade this fall 2008 and is doing very well in his school work. New friends keep both Austin and Tyler very busy.

Anastasia Lee Thelen

   Ana is the newest member of the Thelen family.  She is 8 years old and looks beautiful, just like the rest of the family.  We all have a lot to learn about Ana, which we will do as soon as she gets settled into her new enviorment.  Ana is from Russia, and spoke very little english when she became part of the family. Ana now speaks english very well and has gotten acclimated well.    More news about Ana later.

 Bailey the Pappion

   Although Bailey is the Thelen family dog, he does love Papa just as much or more than the rest of the family.  Smart dog. Angel is now the newest member of the Thelen family. She is a cream lab and only 3 months old. Photo to be added latter.
